ABOUT

Occupying a key site at the University of Toronto, St George Campus, that is a threshold between the historic campus, the north campus, and the city beyond, the new Rotman Commerce building stitches together the surroundings, facilitating flow of people and communicating its purpose clearly.

Rotman Commerce is preparing students for careers in business
and the professional sphere they will enter. This design of the
building aims to enable and represent professionalism. Home to a large percentage of international students, the Rotman Commerce program is distinguished by its breadth and mix. The building prioritizes inclusion and diversity, creating a home-from-home environment.

Rotman Commerce is a prestige institution and the facilities for students, staff and faculty reflect this. The building prioritizes a unique programmatic layout that allows interaction, engagement and connection with the faculty, staff, and the entire Rotman Commerce student body. Ultimately, this building will serve as a fitting home for the RC program facilitating current and future needs for many years to come.

The massing of the building is a diagonal that is divided by program and responds to the surrounding context. This layout allows for an open and terraced interior space that is interconnected through stairs and bridges.
